The After I
Recently within my continued experience of grief, and my creative exploration of it, I’ve been thinking about how it can be represented. Rope has come into my practice, and I’ve been considering knots within it, and when it can unravel. The description of a stomach in knots to explain a feeling of anxiety, and when we describe one as unraveling after a period of trauma or an intense emotional experience. This bodily representation and the way the rope is changed, giving it a point of tension or impact, makes sense to me.
